Solimar has over 20 years of professional experience serving communities in the non-profit and public sector within the fields of human resources, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, board governance, social services and criminal justice. Solimar holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology/Criminal Justice, Master’s degree and Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Her postgraduate research focused on the concept of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Non-Profit leadership. Solimar is an impactful leader currently working with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office within their Human Resources Division. She is also a LGBTQ+ Liaison for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and a member of the Gay Officers' Action League of Central Florida (G.OA.L.cf), helping to bridge the gap between law enforcement and our community. She is an advocate for those who are unable to help themselves. Solimar is a transplant of Orlando from Atlanta and originally hailing from Philadelphia, Go Birds! She enjoys spending her time with her wife and their son and two lively pups.
