Come Out With Pride is a small yet powerful nonprofit primarily managed by our dedicated volunteer Board of Directors. We are firmly committed to purposefully enhancing the diversity and representation within our organizational leadership. In recent years, we have actively included more members from marginalized communities in our highest levels of decision-making. As a result, under the guidance of our Board Members, the Colors of Courage Collective was established in May of 2025 in direct response to the targeted attacks on the communities of color and the current political climate. Our goal is to cultivate inclusive and welcoming experiences for all QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities.

We strive to intentionally design programs and events that reflect and honor the cultural identities, resilience, and joy of queer and trans people of color—with a focus on inclusion across immigration status, language, and lived experience. The Colors of Courage Collective plays a vital role in uplifting those who live at the intersection of queer and QTBIPOC identities, recognizing that these individuals often face compounded barriers to visibility, safety, and celebration. Through this work, we aim to ensure our Pride initiatives reflect the full richness and diversity of our community.

Colors of Courage Collective

Mission Statement

The Colors of Courage Collective exists to increase representation, visibility, and inclusivity of QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) communities—especially Black, Brown, QLatinx, and Asian individuals—throughout Central Florida. We are committed to cultivating and creating culturally affirming spaces and experiences that center the lived experiences, resilience, and joy of queer and trans people of color, regardless of documentation status or native language spoken.

Meet the Team

The Colors of Courage Collective was proudly created by a “for us, by us” leadership model. All decision making is made by COWP Board Members and staff, who identify as QTBIPOC (Queer, Trans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). Efforts are supported by the whole Come Out With Pride Board of Directors and Executive Director.
